E=mc² - Not anymore
Researchers at CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, discovered that particles could travel faster than light. This discovery, if confirmed destroys one of the foundations of modern physics.
Physicists working at CERN have discovered neutrinos traveling faster than the speed of light. If this discovery validated it could only mean one thing - Albert Einstein’s special theory of relatively was wrong. Einstein clearly states in his theory that nothing is able to travel faster than light.
The test conducted in a particle detector named Oscillation Project with Emulsion-t Racking Apparatus (OPERA). Gran Sasso National Laboratory, OPERA detects neutrinos that are fired through the earth from the European particle physics laboratory, CERN, 730km away of Geneva, Switzerland.
